What does a financial analyst do every day?
A fictional cooperative is comparing two equipment proposals. An analyst checks the assumptions, distinguishes cash movement from accounting profit and explains how the conclusion changes if demand is lower. Financial analysis is a broad role; giving regulated investment recommendations is a different permission question.
Where the work happens
- Internal finance and business-planning teams
- Research settings with applicable regulatory requirements
Licence and physical requirements
A general analyst role is not automatically permission to offer regulated securities research or personalised investment advice. Check SEBI’s current rules for the exact service.
