· Source: Amar Ujala

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is starting the NEET UG 2026 counselling process with step-by-step guidance provided for registration and choice filling. Candidates must complete their applications on the official website mcc.nic.in using their registered mobile number and email ID.

Important Guidelines Before Starting Registration

Candidates must take note of critical instructions before initiating their application:

  • Use the exact same mobile number and email ID entered during the NEET UG 2026 application.
  • Fill the application form personally and do not rely on agents, cyber cafes, or third parties.
  • Use only the official MCC website: mcc.nic.in.
  • Avoid clicking on suspicious links or advertisements.

Steps to Register on the MCC Portal

Candidates can follow these steps to register for counselling:

  • Visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
  • Select the 'UG Medical' option.
  • Click on 'New Registration 2026'.
  • Select the option for 'New Candidate Registration'.
  • Carefully read the instructions displayed on the screen.
  • Click on 'Proceed to Application'.
  • Verify your details and accept the Consent Form.

Password Creation and Verification

During registration, candidates must create a high-security password containing capital letters, small letters, numbers, and special characters. This password will be used for future logins and choice locking. After creating the password, enter the security PIN and submit. Complete verification by entering the OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email ID.

Information Required in the Application Form

After logging in, candidates need to fill in personal and educational information, including:

  • Category, nationality, and religion.
  • Class 12 details: board, state, school name, passing year, roll number, and subject-wise marks.
  • Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) options if applying for it or if parents are retired from the armed forces.

Counselling Type Selection, Bank Details, and Fee Payment

Candidates must select which counselling categories they wish to participate in, such as Deemed Universities, after checking the applicable fees. Bank account details must also be provided for any future fee refunds, along with a PDF upload of a cancelled cheque, bank passbook, or online bank statement for verification. After reviewing the form and making any necessary corrections, pay the counselling fee online and download the payment receipt.

Choice Filling, Choice Locking, and Document Download

After fee payment, candidates can view the list of available medical colleges using their high-security password and OTP. Candidates can add colleges, reorder them, or remove choices as needed. Once finalised, candidates must lock their choices using their password and OTP. No changes can be made once choices are locked. Candidates can also log out and resume the application form later if needed. After completing the process, save and download the registration slip, fee payment receipt, and locked choices list.
