Jharkhand JSSC-JPSC: Over 22 Recruitment Exams Cancelled, 6 Postponed

The Jharkhand government has cancelled over 22 recruitment exams, postponed 6, and ordered a CID investigation into 17 previously held exams. The Department of Personnel issued eight separate notifications regarding these actions on the late night of 18 August 2026.
Major Decision on JSSC and JPSC Recruitment Exams
Following student protests and concerns over alleged irregularities and the role of the exam conducting agency TDPL, the Hemant Soren government has issued eight different notifications through the Department of Personnel on the late night of 18 August 2026. Under this decision, more than 22 recruitment examinations have been cancelled, 6 examinations have been postponed until further orders, and a CID probe has been ordered for 17 previously conducted exams.

The exams that have been completely cancelled include several key recruitment drives across departments:
- Non-teaching posts in universities
- Assistant Director and Senior Scientific Officer
- Drug Inspector
- Assistant Professor in engineering colleges
- Polytechnic Lecturer
- Assistant Professor in medical colleges
- Civil Judge Junior Division
- Assistant Conservator of Forest and Forest Range Officer
- Combined Civil Services Examination-2025, Backlog-2025, and Backlog-2023
- Food Safety Officer
- Child Development Project Officer
- Combined Civil Services Examination-2023
- 6th Limited Deputy Collector Recruitment Examination
- Jharkhand Eligibility Test-2024
- Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination for 1,932 posts
Examinations Postponed Until Further Orders
The government has decided to postpone 6 recruitment examinations rather than cancelling them outright:
- Food Analyst
- Deputy Director Prosecution
- Project Manager
- Factory Inspector
- Boiler Inspector
- Director
CID Probe and System Reforms
A CID inquiry will be conducted for 17 previously held recruitment exams to check alleged irregularities and complaints before taking further action. To improve the examination system and restore candidate confidence, the government has decided to establish fast-track courts, an internal monitoring cell, and an examination reform committee.
